Maplewood, NJ 07040
I grew up in West Orange and currently live in South Orange with my wife and son and have enjoyed being a full-time Realtor for the last 6 years. Prior to that I was in the entertainment industry, playing bass for Chubby Checker back in the 90s and performing with many original combos appearing on the East Coast. I also composed the score for documentaries and marketed classical, jazz and pop music catalogs to the film, tv and advertising industries. When I'm relaxing, you can find me indulging in cooking, finding new area restaurants, enjoying good music with friends and my other passion, making maps.
As an agent who's an expert in this local area, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise about buying and selling real estate here. It's not the same everywhere, so you need someone you can trust for up-to-date information. I am eager to serve you. Here are some of the things I can do for you:
Find Your Next Home
You need someone who knows this area inside and out! I can work with you to find the right home at the right price, including the neighborhood amenities that matter - not to mention the essential criteria you have for your ideal home
Sell a Home
When it's time to move, you need someone who will advertise your home, show to prospective buyers, negotiate the purchase contract, arrange financing, oversee the inspections, handle all necessary paperwork and supervise the closing. I can take care of everything you need, from start to close.
Consult on Home Selling Tactics
Oftentimes buyers don't visualize living in your home the way you do. I can make your home attractive to its ideal audience - which can help you get top dollar. Things like staging the home, making repairs or minor improvements, or even simply painting the walls can be the difference between a home resting on the market and one that's sold fast.
"I am writing to express my positive experience with realtor Ken Krasner, who represented me in my sale and recent purchase of my home. Ken guided me through the entire process, from the loan application, to searching for houses, to making and accepting offers. I credit Ken with a smooth, stress-free home buying experience. Ken is exceptionally knowledgable of the entire Essex/Union area; any questions I had from simple things like local utilities to recycling pickup, Ken was always fast with the right answers, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Ken's calm and comfortable personality will make your real estate experience a pleasant one."

"We used Ken as our buyer's and seller's agent in the spring and summer of 2015. He was great and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to make a move in the area of Maplewood and South Orange. He was patient when we needed him to be, agressive and knowledgeable when we wanted him to be. He went above and beyond in a very competitive market. You need someone with local insight to help you figure out when and what to bid and Ken was very helpful."

"If you are reading this and searching for an agent, look no further. My wife and I were completely new to house buying and had no idea where to start. Ken made the entire process as easy and painless as it could be. He is very friendly and absolutely made no attempts to pressure us into anything. He answered all of our questions honestly, which made us feel we can trust him. I feel like he is now a family friend, and I would (and have) recommend him to anyone. When we are uncertain about anything house-related, he has been happy to help us. Like when a steam pipe burst in our basement on just the 2nd day we moved in, he recommended a plumber who was reliable and honest. Because of him, my wife and I were able to find a new home where we can start our family, and we are happy to say we will be welcoming a new baby next spring! Thank you, Ken!"

"Ken sold our 100-year old Maplewood, NJ house in Spring 2012. Within six weeks of listing it, he had two solid offers. Clearly, we recommend him extremely highly. Ken provided us with a strategic and realistic overview of the local market and its fluctuations. He ensured that we immediately learned of competitive listings that arose and what implications their listing could have on ours. He was always quick to respond to changes in the housing market, as well as quick to answer all of our questions. All of Ken's Internet and paper marketing materials were crafted with great care. His photographer took outstanding photos of our house that Ken turned into elegant marketing pieces. Ken made extensive use of the Internet to market our house. In addition, Ken was a valuable resource to us as we spruced our home up for sale on a limited budget. He pitched in to help us refine color choices for our front door, shutters and the seven rooms that we painted prior to listing. He fo"

"We met Ken at one of the many open houses we attended while searching for a home. It was late in the day and we were able to talk to Ken at length about what we were interested in, in a home, area and lifestyle. We never felt like we were talking to a realtor, but to someone that was already in our circle of friends that we had known for a long time. Open houses are as much about finding a realtor as it is about finding a home. You get to interview the person that is going to help you spend a lifetime's worth of money on something you hope to enjoy for lifetime. A huge responsibility. We had already met many realtors, but nothing 'clicked'. Many pounced on us and tried to push us into a contract from the outset. Some just didn't seem interested or professional. There were a few that might have done a good job, but we just weren't feeling the vibe. As we walked to the car after meeting Ken at the open house, we both looked at each other and said we were going to talk t"
